Farah Khan Calls Out Rising Entourage Costs of Actors in Bollywood: 'It's Become Clinical'

Famous filmmaker Farah Khan discussed the rising cost of film entourages in a recent Twin Encounter interview on Chinki Minki's YouTube channel. Farah noted both positive and negative changes in Bollywood.

Farah praised the industry's expanding organizational structure, stating studio systems and timeliness are prevalent. However, she worried about the sector's diminishing interpersonal relationships. Farah lamented the clinical approach that replaced direct engagement with performers with managerial hierarchies.

Farah noted that performers bringing large teams to film sets is pointless due to high entourage costs. She noted that such procedures—in which an actor is escorted by eight personnel and an actress by nine—waste resources without improving the final product. Farah stressed the pressure this puts on producers and suggested stricter control over these expenses to speed up film production.

Farah's Main Hoon Na turned 20 this year, thus her opinions are pertinent. Farah's industry expertise illuminated Bollywood's key issues and encouraged discussions on how to enhance filmmaking.
