Though director Balu Mahendra has offered explanation over the alleged kidnapping of Athu Oru Kanaa Kaalam producer Sai Chidambaram, the issue looks far from over.

Following a complaint with Chennai City police by Sai Chidambaram that he was kidnapped by directors Bala and Seeman at the behest of director Balu Mahendra, police conducted a detailed enquiry with directors Seeman and Bala vis-a-vis the alleged kidnapping on Monday.

Director Bala had informed the police that Sai Chidambaram had given the complaint to evoke self-pity and garner publicity, while Seeman informed the police that the complaint was false as the producer voluntarily turned up at Balu Mahendra's office.

Sai Chidambaram also informed the Producers'Council that he had been to Balu Mahendra's office on his own, he said.

In a couple of days, the police would enquire with Balu Mahendra and decide on further course of investigation.
