Actor Silambarasan has been facing enormous flak for the beep song and the rage against the multi-talented actor shows no sing of dying down even as almost two weeks have passed. Prominent political parties, women rights organisation and activists are up in arms against the actor for allegedly causing insult to women with the song filled with cuss words that are beeped.

Women activists organised protests in front of Simbu's house in T.Nagar and other places. Police complaints have been registered in many stations across Tamil Nadu. Cases have also been filed in Courts.

However a section of people, mainly male youngsters and fans of Simbu have been defending the star and his latest song. Today a group of ardent Simbu fans went far ahead and tried to self immolate in a bid to stop the collective actions taken against Simbu. They did this in front of Simbu'a home in T.Nagar, only to be prevented and whisked away by Police personnel.

The same attempt has taken place in Vellore and a few other places in Tamil Nadu by SImbu fans
