With Samantha Ruth Prabhu intensely promoting 'Shaakuntalam' ahead of its theatrical release on April 14, all eyes and ears are on her and her utterances. She has been accused of resorting to cheap publicity by Naga Chaitanya's fans.

Netizens claiming to be Chay's fans are arguing that Sam brings up health issues just ahead of the theatrical release of her movies. "When 'Yashoda' was about to be released, she posted a pic of herself dubbing on a bed while undergoing treatment for Myositis. She went public with the auto-immune disorder at that time," a fan said.

Another fan added that Sam is prone to sounding controversial about Chaitanya around the time her movie's release. Recently, a pic of the 'Thank You' actor with actress Sobhita Dhulipala in London surfaced on the Internet out of nowhere.

When her movie is not up for a release, Samantha makes positive posts of herself gymming, etc. A Netizen alleged that there is a stark difference in the way Samantha behaves during the release of her movie and at other times.

Sam's supporters are contending that the negative commentary targeting the actress is baseless and insensitive. "She gives interviews only when her movies are up for release. And it is only during that time that she is asked certain pointed questions (about Chay) and she responds the way she deems fit. Sam was genuinely ill in the run-up to the release of 'Yashoda'," a fan of Sam wrote.
