Shikhar, the much-awaited from respected director John Matthew Mathan starring Ajay Devgan, Shahid Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Amrita Rao and Pakistani Superstar Javed Sheikh among others is just that indeed much awaited.

How much was seen earlier this week when movie lovers actually started making inquiries at the box office of Mumbai’s Fame Ad Labs cinema in Andheri West.

Requesting the management to start issuing advance booking tickets a week in advance of the normal practice of opening advance bookings by Fame Ad Labs and other multiplexes.

And for director Mathan (check out his video interview to be up very shortly on your favourite Bollywood site indiaglitz.com!) that was a pleasant surprise.

Within a single day around 800 tickets were sold, he says beaming. He said, You see a couple of my distributors had begun to get a little bit nervous because another recent Shahid Kapoor-Amrita Rao starrer hasn’t been doing brilliantly at the box office, but this has come to them as good news.

Shikhar releases on the 30th of December in India and worldwide.

John informs that he is handling the entire international release himself with around 350 prints in all. He has sold the rights for each main country internationally to different distributors and is hoping the film does well. Although his first film Sarfarosh is definitely a tough act to follow, John is hopeful it will do well. He’s wishing him well for Shikhar!!!
