Electoral defeats and victories bring in their wake their share of peculiarities. Fanboys and fangirls can resort to over-the-top celebrations when their favourite party/candidate wins. And they stop eating for days and do such other things if the reverse happens.

In Jayashankar-Bhupalapally district in Telangana, what Mallesh has done is beyond peculiar. It's saddeningly strange. A day after the results were out, he chopped off the index finger of his left hand only because Gandra Satyanarayana Rao (Sattanna) of the All India Forward Block Party lost the election.

As he moved about in the town wearing a tee shirt bearing Gandra's picture, many ridiculed him for wearing it even after his leader has been trounced in the election. He told them that he is an all-weather fan of Gandra.

Perhaps to prove how fanatical he is, Mallesh chopped off his index finger after coming to the home. He was hospitalized after heavy bleeding.
