Shocking! Renowned singer Bombay Jayashri found unconscious and rushed to hospital

Bombay Jayashri is a renowned Carnatic vocalist, playback singer and musician. She is one of the most sought-after singers in multiple languages and was bestowed with the Padma Shri Award earlier. Jayashri is on a tour in London recently to perform at the University of Liverpool. 

Now, the shocking news is that Bombay Jayashri suffered a brain haemorrhage and was rushed to the hospital. Reports say that she was found unconscious in the hotel before she was hospitalised. Sources say that the veteran has undergone keyhole surgery. Her family said in a statement that she is recovering well. It is expected that she will be flown back to Chennai as soon as she recovers. 

The statement of Jayashri’s family read, “She is currently stable and recovering well, she requires rest for a couple of days. Bombay Jayashri’s family requests privacy and your support during this period. We shall update you in due course.” The 58-year-old singer was announced as the recipient of The Music Academy’s most prestigious honour, Sangeetha Kalanidhi, last week.
