The sudden demise of renowned singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, took the music lovers in shock and sorrow. The nation's entire film fraternity and politicians are mourning the death of the blessed singer.
KK passed away last night due to cardiac arrest, he was in Kolkata for a music concert. The 53-year-old vocalist collapsed after the musical event in Kolkata and was rushed to a private hospital but the CMRI Hospital told that he was "brought dead".
KK is a magical singer who has rendered around 6000 songs in nearly 11 Indian languages with his mesmerising voice. He began his career by singing for advertisement jingles and made his film debut with an A.R. Rahman soundtrack.
KK is the singer of many popular songs that were ruling every nook and corner of Tamil Nadu during the 2000-2010 period. He is the voice of the most famous songs: 'Strawberry Kanne', 'Oru Punnagai Poove', 'Ollikuchi Udambukari', 'Appadi Podu', 'Uyirin Uyire', 'KalyanamThan Kattikittu', 'Ninaithu Ninaithu Parthen', 'Kaadhal Valarthen', 'Pathukulle Number', 'Andangakka', 'Panithuli Panithuli', 'Dhol Baje' and 'Poi Solla Poren'.
KK's songs reached every part of the country and his voice was celebrated. He recently returned as a singer in Harris Jayaraj's 'The Legend' soundtrack after a long hiatus in Tamil cinema. Many celebrities, cricketers and politicians including Harris, Shewag, Modi and Kamal expressed their condolences through social media.
