We all know that Lokesh Kanagaraj delivered a brilliant spin-off to Kamal Haasan's 1986 film 'Vikram', which goes by the same title. The 2022 Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil and Suriya, has emerged as an industry hit by collecting more than 380 crores INR worldwide.
Now, an old video of Kollywood's top director stating that he wishes to make a sequel to Kamal Haasan's 1986 'Vikram' has become the talk of the town. A clip dating back to 2013 shows director Venkat Prabhu talking about making a film with Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan on the popular Koffee with DD show.
When asked what kind of story he would write for Kamal Haasan, Venkat replies, "I will make Vikram (1986) part 2. I wish to see Kamal Haasan again in that particular genre. That film is set in the mood of the Indiana Jones movie. So, I really want to do a sequel to his Vikram. Every aspect of the film is great and I love it."
Fans are excited to see if the two would team up for a movie in future. Director Venkat Prabhu made the biggest hit of 2021 'Maanadu', the time loop film. He recently started the works for his Telugu debut film starring Naga Chaitanya, Arun Vijay and Krithi Shetty, which has music composed by Ilayaraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja.
