Can there be a police case against an animal, even if it has killed a person? The family of Dharampal Singh, a 72-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat, thinks so.
This is what happened. Singh was mercilessly killed by a troop of monkeys on Friday; they rained bricks on him when he went near a tree for a daily routine. The monkeys, which went rogue upon the sight of the poor old man, rained about 20 bricks, hurting his head, chest and legs. He succumbed to injuries.
After the man breathed his last, his family went to the local police station and demanded that an FIR be registered against the rogue monkeys. The police refused to do so as they don't want to become a laughing stock in the country!
It's said that rogue monkeys are a notable problem in UP.
