Amitabh Bachchan has been an icon who made holding a gun in (his left) hand fashionable. The original angry young man, it was only later when Sanjay Dutt made guns look beautiful while carrying two of them in each of his hands.

But it appears Big B may put down his 'arms' for a while now. Reason? The ordinary response to 'Ek Ajnabee' and debacle of 'Family'. Both the movies were attempted at reliving the nostalgia of seeing the veteran in his 'angry avtar' but audience chose to gave him cold shoulder. Instead they gave him a standing ovation for roles like in 'Black', 'Bunty Aur Babli' and 'Sarkar'.

This has set Big B thinking and he has stated that if audience chooses not to see him in hardcore action roles, he would fully respect that and rather do what is expected from him by the masses.

His upcoming releases are 'Eklavya', 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' and 'Babul' - none of which are action roles.
