The controversy surrounding Mansoor Ali Khan's misogynistic comments about Chennai Thendral Trisha continues to escalate, fueled by a viral video of Mansoor's post-'Leo' success media interaction. In the video, delivered in Tamil, Mansoor expressed his disappointment at not sharing the screen with Trisha and articulated misguided expectations of an intimate scene. Shockingly, he disclosed a history of explicit scenes in previous movies, including disturbing instances like rape scenes.
Amidst the uproar, Tollywood actor Nithiin firmly stood in support of Trisha. He denounced Mansoor Ali Khan's reprehensible statement against Trisha, emphasizing that chauvinism has no place in society. Nithiin urged everyone to unite against such derogatory remarks targeting women in the industry. Sharing his feelings he posted "I strongly condemn Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan's vile and vulgar statement against @trishtrashers Chauvinism has no place in our society. I urge everyone to stand up against such remarks against women in our industry.."
Trisha herself vehemently condemned Mansoor's statements, describing them as sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive, and in bad taste. She expressed her gratitude for never having shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him and declared her intention to ensure it never happens in her future film career. Actress Kushboo, a member of the National Commission for Women (NCW), promised to take action against Mansoor Ali Khan. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj of 'Leo' also condemned Mansoor's words.
In response, Mansoor Ali Khan attempted to clarify his statements, asserting that they were taken out of context, and accused the media of selectively using his speech to tarnish his image. However, his attempts to defend himself rather than issue a genuine apology failed to convince anyone, as skepticism grew regarding the sincerity of his explanations. The controversy shows no signs of abating as the industry and public alike stand united against such demeaning behavior.
I strongly condemn Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan's vile and vulgar statement against @trishtrashers.
