The External Affairs minister S. Jaishankar held talks with his counterparts from 11 different countries including Iran, Bulgaria, Turkey, Netherlands, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and UAE among others. Raveesh Kumar the spokesperson of the external ministry has stated in a press conference in New York ""External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had 11 bilateral meetings with Iran, Bulgaria, Turkey, Netherlands, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, UAE and others. He also had a meeting with US special envoy on Afghanistan,".
S. Jaishankar is travelling with Prime Minister Modi who has hit it big with the Indian diaspora there by his friendly interactions with President Trump and the Howdy Modi event. S. Jaishankar a winner of the Padmashri Award is a Tamilian and is the son of famous Indian strategic affairs analyst, commentator, and civil servant K. Subhramanyam. He is married to Kyoko from Japan and has two children Dhruva and Arjun.
