Sparks fly between CM Revanth and KTR. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao engaged in a heated exchange of words in the Legislative Assembly on Saturday during a debate on the Motion of Thanks by the Governor, transforming the session into a series of accusations and counter-accusations.

The atmosphere in the Assembly took a sharp turn when Revanth Reddy referred to Rama Rao as a "non-reliable Indian," taking a dig at Rama Rao’s return from the US to wield power in the government for nine years. Reddy also criticized Rama Rao, suggesting that his political career was a result of a "management quota," alluding to the dynastic politics within the pink party.

In response to Rama Rao’s criticism of ‘Indiramma Rajyam (Indira Gandhi’s rule)’, Reddy remarked, "This is what happens when non-reliable Indians (NRIs) join politics."

Rama Rao swiftly fired back, bringing up Sonia Gandhi and stating, "A party led by an NRI cannot point fingers at me."

"You secured TPCC post under payment quota. Your own party leaders said that you purchased the TPCC chief post for crores," Rama Rao countered Revanth Reddy’s ‘management quota’ remark.

The Chief Minister continued to criticize Rama Rao for labeling the Governor’s address "politically and intellectually bankrupt," expressing his embarrassment for the pink party during the speech. Rama Rao had called the Governor’s speech "lies" and claimed they were ready to offer constructive criticism if the Governor spoke the truth.

While Revanth Reddy accused the BRS of "failing to provide jobs, prevent farmer suicides, and halt migration of people in search of livelihood," Rama Rao sought to put the Congress in its place, reminding the Chief Minister of the party’s thin margin with 65 MLAs, 54 of them in opposition.

"The BRS’ vote share in the elections was only 1.85 per cent less than what Congress got. BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao told the party MLAs to give three months to Congress," Rama Rao stated, hinting at a potential shift in alliances.

The Chief Minister, countering Rama Rao’s arguments, stated, "There are some NRIs who do not understand democracy and democratic spirit, and there is a ‘non-reliable Indian’ who got into the government under management quota, and he is here today."

Rama Rao also took a swipe at Revanth Reddy, likening the current situation in Congress to a snake slipping into an ant hill and taking over. He argued that the Chief Minister lacked an understanding of the difference between Rythu Bima and ‘panta bima (crop insurance)’, emphasizing that the Chief Minister was nominated by Delhi, not elected by the people.

The BRS MLA’s criticism of the Chief Minister was met with a response from health minister Damodar Rajnarasimha, who defended the Congress practice of following high command’s orders.
