Until 'Dangal' became the biggest Indian hit ever, 'Baahubali-The Conclusion' was the king. The lifetime collections of Aamir Khan's movie are way above the business that Rajamouli's magnum opus has done so far. In this context, how much 'Baahubali-2' can mop up in China has become a matter of interest.
What does writer Vijayendra Prasad think about his film's potential in that country?
"Somehow, I don't think 'Baahubali-2' will do a good business in China. Chinese are used to costume dramas. My assessment of why 'Dangal' has done so well is because it tells the story of how a woman took the father's baton forward and fulfilled his ambitions. That's what struck the chord in their hearts. That explains the film's phenomenal success in that country. We should share the joy as it is an Indian movie," he tells IndiaGlitz.
Is it also because Chinese seem to have liked the wrestling backdrop a lot? "It could have been sport or any backdrop, it still would have worked the same way," he analyzes.
