In an exclusive interview with IG, legendary director Manirathnam revealed that his romance drama starring Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menon OK Kanmani` releasing on the 17th of April has been shot with sync sound. Kamal Hassan was the pioneer in Tamil cinema to use live sound recording in Hey Ram`, Mumbai Express` and Manmadhan Anbu`. Manirathnam himself experimented with it in Aaytha Ezhuthu`.

Manirathnam says he loves sync sound which posed the extra challenge, but is worth it for the life that he got from his performers and he recommends that when the actors speak the language one should always go for it. In the film the sequences shot outdoor has been dubbed as there were extra noises, but all the indoor scenes have been recorded live. The director praised Dulquer, Nithya, Prakash Raj and Leela Samson for doing a great job of speaking Tamil spontaneously.
