Sathyaraj shot to fame across the country with the 'Baahubali' movies. North Indians call him Katappa and fondly so. The character artist will be seen in a cameo appearance in 'Radhe Shyam', which will hit the screens on March 11.
IndiaGlitz spoke to the talented actor about doing a cameo in the Radha Krishna Kumar directorial. "Usually, I don't do cameo appearances. This one I did only for Prabhas. I worked with him on 'Mirchi' and the 'Baahubali' movies. I have done 'Prati Roju Pandage' and 'Pakka Commercial' for UV Creations. It's a very important character that I have played in 'Radhe Shyam'. That's why I couldn't say no to the cameo. What my character says is what happens in the story," Sathyaraj revealed.
Sathyaraj will also be seen in Suriya's 'ET', which will hit the screens on March 10. So, on two consecutive days, two films featuring him will be coming out. "I have played a feel-good father in 'ET'. I enjoy working with a director like Pandiraj, who knows how to extract performances. If the director asks you to keep odd expressions, it would be difficult," Sathyaraj added.
"I have played negative roles in 75 films. I started my career as a villain. I then became a hero. I have done about 50 films as a character artist. I was a trend-setter as a villain. The new generation wouldn't know about the villain Sathyaraj. If I play a negative role again, it will be a unique one," he said.
