Director Shankar is planning to pull a casting coup of sorts with his upcoming film starring Mega Powerstar Ram Charan. Called RC 15, the film is rumoured to have Megastar Chiranjeevi in an important cameo. A political thriller that is likely to have Ram Charan essaying the role of an IAS-officer-turned-Chief Minister, the film will see Chiranjeevi in a powerful role that comes at a crucial phase in the film, says a source.

Chiranjeevi and Shankar were supposed to team up in the past, but things didn't turn out as expected and their combination never materialised. Now that Shankar is directing Charan, he has etched a character for Chiranjeevi and is keen to cast him in that thrilling role. Produced by Dil Raju, RC 15 will go on floors in July right after Charan wraps up RRR. The makers are planning to wrap up the entire shooting by early next year and release the film in summer 2022.

Unlike Shankar's earlier films Robo and 2.0, RC 15 won't have room for special effects and the team is planning to take the film onto the floors with meticulous planning. The film is likely to have Kiara Advani as the female lead opposite Charan and it is still unclear if Chiru's role has a heroine or not.
