Former Hamas Leader Calls for Global Support for Palestinians and Arab Action

The exiled leader of Hamas, Khaled Meshaal, has called for Muslims across the world to take the streets in response to his appeal for global demonstrations in support of Palestinians. Based now in Qatar, Meshaal recorded a message requesting the Islamic world organize protests in solidarity with the besieged people of Gaza.
Meshaal underlined the application of jihad, and he even referred to scholars who teach this term. He pressed all governments and people of neighbouring countries like Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, and Jordan to stand against Israel because it is a duty.
Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria host large Palestinian populations outside Gaza, and he asked the Jordanians to recognize their responsibility in the present situation.
Amidst these calls, the severest global protests have broken out many times, leading to violent confrontations between supporters of both sides. This request came in the wake of a recent attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists that led to an enormous number of deaths and injuries, thus causing Israel's retaliation.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has put together an emergency war cabinet to keep the country united and is coming back to Hamas. The fight goes on with rockets fired, and airstrikes continue to be conducted.
Gaza is being completely surrounded, so obviously the casualties are high. In this extremely explosive atmosphere, world protests and humanitarian shouts for help resonate with the intense passion emulated by the Israel-Palestine crisis.
