Wednesday's tragedy on the sets of 'Indian 2' at Chennai's EVP Film City has brought into focus the accidents that took place here in the recent past.

In 2017, a mechanic fell from the second floor during the making of Kamal Haasan-hosted Bigg Boss (Tamil). Days later, the victim succumbed to injuries.

In 2016, a technician died on the sets of Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kaala' when he accidentally stepped on a live wire.

Last year, on the sets of Tamil superstar Vijay's 'Bigil', an electrician was severely injured during the shoot of a scene when a floodlight fell on him. This should have been a wakeup call.

Yesterday's tragedy was the biggest of all. Three technicians lost their lives and 11 were injured by the crane crash. Kamal Haasan, Shankar and Kajal Aggarwal had a providential escape.
