Ponvannan, the vice president of the Nadigar Sangam, resigned from his post the other day allegedly due to displeasure over its secretary Vishal's attempt at contesting the RK Nagar Bypolls as an independent candidate. He, along with others, feels that Vishal's decision has the potential to make the government hostile towards the film industry.

While there is a huge media speculation about a rift amongst the office bearers of the Nadigar Sangam, Karthi, the treasurer, and Vishal have tried to assure all concerned through social media.

Karthi had posted a playful tweet asking Vishal in Tamil "What say, Secretary?! We are raising the new Nadigar Sangam building first and foremost and all else is secondary including your (Vishal) marriage".

To which Vishal has replied " Yes Darling Karthi for sure by Dec 2018, we are on track !! Always Love my extended family - Nadigar Sangam !!.
