Good comedy is all about timing and partnership. Satti Babu and Srikanth enjoy a good rapport . So their combination is spontaneous. So there is much good humour and good emotional drama in Evandoi Srivaru. But somehow the vital spark that makes for good cinema is missing and that proves the undoing of the film.
Further, in a season of big and high-budgeted releases, this small fish has been badly hit due to lack of publicity. A pity really.
The story is about the complications in human relationships especially involving that of a father and daughter, and what happens when the latter falls in love with a guy.
The movie is set on Surya (Srikanth), a honest and a well-meaning rich man. Then there is Divya (Sneha) and Swapna (Nikitha), daughters of Raghupathi (Sarath Babu), a teacher and a doting father.
Having raised his daughters independently, Raghupathi paradoxically cannot stand this daughter Divya falling in love with Surya. He puts his foot down. But Divya goes against her father's wish and marries Surya. As it happens, she dies while delivering baby. She makes a wish before dying. She wants the child to be brought up under the guidance of the granddad. So Surya works his way to get into the good books of Raghupathi and unites with them. There is also an attachment he develops with Swapna.
It is cute tale told with emotion and humour. However, it all seems predictable due to the lack of momentum in the script.
On the acting front, Srikanth as ever comes up with a respectable portrayal of a respectable man. He unleashes his humour skills along with the comedy team (M S Narayana and Rama Prabha are quite good).
Sneha is also dignity personified. She takes off from where she left in Radha Gopalam with Srikanth. Nikitha is cute and glamorous. Sarath Babu fits the bill of a father very well.
Srikanth Deva's music is of the okay sort. The technical aspects are otherwise pedestrian.
Satti Babu's direction sticks to straight path. It is a safer option. If he had taken more risk, the movie would have done better.
