Eththan

Same producer, same actor and a title which more or less conveys the same meaning. This is what `Eththan', which brings together `Kalavani' producer Nazir and hero Vimal once again, seems to be when one looks from outside.

"But the story is totally different," says director L Suresh, who is making his debut with this film. "It is true that `Eththan' too is a breezy entertainer like `Kalavani'. But the script and the treatment will be a complete contrast," he says.

"There is hardly anyone who has not taken a loan in life and this film tells the tale of one such boy," says Suresh, adding: "Eththan is about a carefree youngster who lives life in his own way. What changes him and what happens next is the crux of the movie."

"The movie is a collection of incidents that I have come across in my life. Youngsters will identify themselves with the character that Vimal is donning in Eththan," adds the director.

The film has music by `Vamsam' fame Taj Noor. There are seven songs which include two bit numbers. Says Taj Noor, "Suresh is talented enough to get the right kind of music the script wanted."

The music composer believes that the highlight of the album is a song with lyrics in reverse. "We found it really tough, and at the same time very interesting, to compose and record the song," he says.

Vimal says, "I felt very comfortable with Suresh (a former associate of Balu Mahendra) and his easy style of direction reminded me of my previous directors Pandiraj and Sargunam. Ethan is an energetic entertainer."

On joining hands with Nazir of Sherali Films again, he says, "I share a very good rapport with the producer right from `Kalavani' days and it's a delight for me to work with him once again. He gives enough freedom to the cast and crew."

And finally, the producer says, "The whole movie was shot in 60 days. We want the audience to throng the theatres to watch movies. `Eththan' will bring them in for sure".
