England captain Eoin Morgan slammed the fourth fastest century in the history of cricket World Cup as the team took on Afghanistan in the ICC World Cup 2019 at Old Trafford today.
Morgan is also the first ever man in the history of cricket to score an ODI century with just the number of sixes hit, after slamming 17 sixes and 4 boundaries. Rohit Sharma, Chris Gayle, and AB de Villiers previously held the record for most sixes by a cricketer in an ODI inning at 16 sixes. Followed by Kevin O’ Brien’s 50-ball century, Glenn Maxwell’s 51-ball century, and AB de Villiers’ 52-ball century, Morgan now stands at the fourth place with his 57-ball century for the record of fastest century in World Cup history. The England skipper has managed a knock of 148 runs off 71 balls in the team's match against Afghanistan.
Morgan has also reached the top spot for the most sixes (22) hit in World Cup 2019, followed by Australia’s Aaron Finch who has hit 14 so far.
