England’s skipper Eoin Morgan, who slammed the fourth fastest century in the history of cricket World Cup during the team’s match against Afghanistan on Tuesday at the Old Trafford, also hit 17 sixes in the inning, making him the first ever player to knock that many numbers of sixes in an ODI.
During a recent press meet, Morgan explained that he never thought he would play a knock like that but that he was very happy to have done so. “Never have I ever thought I could play a knock like that but I’m delighted that I have. It’s weird...to have that sixes record. It’s something, along with the innings, I never thought I’d do,” he said.
Morgan now stands at the fourth place with his 57-ball century for the record of fastest century in World Cup history. He managed a knock of 148 runs off 71 balls in the match against Afghanistan.
