Breaking! Shankar wins 'Enthiran' plagiarism case

The 'Enthiran' plagiarism case filed against director Shankar and producer Kalanithi Maran has come to an end with the court ruling in favour of the defendants. Veteran journalist and poet Aurur Tamil Nadan filed the petition claiming that the story of the blockbuter hit 2010 was stolen from his story titled 'Jiguba' published in 1996.
in 2021 an arrest warrant was issued against Shankar who did not appear in person in court after several summons. Now the Lordship Justice S. Soundhar after listening to arguments and examining evidences has dismissed the case observing that there are wide dissimilarities of the petitioner's story and the film 'Enthiran'. He also ordered Arur Tamil Nadan who demanded rupees thirty one crores as compensation to pay the costs of the case.
'Enthiran' produced by Sun Pictures with A.R. Rahman's music had Superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the lead pair with Danny Denzogpa as the main villaiin. Rajini played dual roles of a scientist Vaseegaran and the Robot Chitti he creates who turns from good to bad due to the machinations of the villain.
