It's known that Rakul Preet Singh had filed a plea with the Delhi High Court, urging it to direct the Centre, the Press Council of India and the NBA (related to TV channels) to order the media not to report on the drugs case so far as she is concerned until the Narcotics Control Bureau completes its investigation into the matter.
The news is that, on Tuesday, the High Court issued a notice to the Centre and others. It issued an interim direction, asking them to ensure that the media doesn't broadcast any programme, publish or print any article or write-ups relating to Rakul Preet Singh in the drugs case.
A report says that Rakul told the court that she is a teetotaller and a non-smoker who had been called by the NCB only as a witness.
In her petition, the 'Sarrianodu' actress had said that "fake news" about her in the drugs case has been slanderous, damaging her and her family's reputation, besides invading her right to privacy and affecting her commercial interests.
