Ahead of his Vizag visit on Wednesday, actor and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has revealed his plan of action.
He and his party will take up people's issues in three stages. In the first stage, an analysis of the problems will be carried out by learning things first hand. In the second, an assessment of the government's approach to the issues will be made. In case there is a failure of governmental action, political accountability will be demanded. And if that fails, in the third stage, direct protests will be carried out.
"We are all witness to suicides of hard-working farmers, atrocities on women, injustice to students. It should melt our hearts and make us act. We are all witness to broken promises made before elections; political leadership exploiting the youth and cruelly dumping them once used. You are witness to all of this as much as I am. Enough is enough now," he wrote on Tuesday.
Naming his campaign as 'Chalo re. Chalo re.. Chal..', Pawan said, "Vexed with the issues that beset our people, I am bringing my own responsibility to the fore. My inner churning and yearning to be responsible as the chief of Janasena, I am going closer to the people. I am responsible, therefore I am acting. I am responsible for the grief that descends on families when they lose their loved ones in mindless, meaningless incidents, accidents, dastardly crimes, barbaric acts. My responsibility is moral. So, 'Chalo re. Chalo re.. Chal..'."
"I am responsible but not accountable. At least not yet. Accountable are those who hold the reigns of power. Accountable are those who claim to hold office and those who actually hold office. If I hold an office that is accountable for the safety, well-being and growth of people, then I should be held accountable. I will not shirk from being evaluated and held accountable. As a human and as a Janasena chief, I am going out to hold the government accountable. Those who are accountable need to answer. I am setting out to question them. So, 'Chalo re. Chalo re.. Chal..'," he said.
"Accountability is one thing. But guilt is quite another. When criminals who are culpable for a crime escape justice, we need to question. We need to question, hold the right people accountable, and fix responsibility on those who are accountable. Guilty people need punishment. Justice should be done. Quickly. I want to fight for those affected individuals, families and masses of people who are victims of crimes but find no light of justice in their lives. I am setting out to correct that. I may or may not succeed, but I am setting out to act. So, 'Chalo re. Chalo re.. Chal..'," he wrote in another message.
"Where is the transparency regarding AP special status, regarding the broken promises in the manifesto and inequitable distribution of natural resources?" Power Star asked.
