England batsman Jos Buttler and team India captain Virat Kohli got into a war of words following Butler's dismissal during the fifth and last T20I between India and England at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.
The spat happened after Bhuvneshwar Kumar took the wicket of Buttler in the 13th over. The dismissed batsman mouthed a few inappropriate words to Kohli who was celebrating the wicket. While talking about the 3rd ODI match between India and England, Buttler was also asked about his verbal altercation with Kohli in the 5th T20I. "Someone like Virat is a very competitive guy and an emotional player, and he rides the emotions of the games. All of this series has been fiercely competitive," the England batsman said.
India defeated England in consecutive Test, T20I and ODI series under Virat Kohli's captaincy. Crediting the different players responsible for the final ODI win, he said during the post-match presentation, "As I mentioned, when top-two teams battle, you get exciting games. England will not throw in the total at any stage. Sam played well but we kept taking wickets to put enough pressure on them. The mindset shifted in the last couple of overs. Hardik Pandya and Nattu were brilliant to finish it off."
