Once in a while a fresh rain would quench the thirst of Tamil film music lovers. Sathya is one such downpour, who inundates our ears with a variety of songs in 'Engeyum Eppothum', the debut film of director Saravanan. Produced by Saravanan's mentor and ace filmmaker AR Murugadoss in association with Fox Star Studios, the Hollywood giant, 'Engeyum Eppothum' presents us an interesting album, which has got some young voices and a fresh lyricist (director Saravanan) to enthrall us. Govindha Listen here Vijay Prakash, Ranina, Bonnie An impressive start to the album, 'Govindha...' is experimental as well. Sathya proves in this very first number that he has goods to deliver. Brimming with energy, voices of Vijay Prakash, Ranina and Bonnie gel well with Na Muthukumar's lyrics. Sotta Sotta Listen here Chinamyee When Chinmayee is at the helm of affairs, you can expect some magic. With beautiful lyrics from Na Muthukumar, Sathya's tune and orchestration are simple, yet so catchy. Melody gets a new angle in 'Sotta Sotta...' Maasamaa Listen here Sathya The music composer himself is the singer here. And the director is the lyricist. Both give their best, thereby making 'Maasamaa' the pick of the lot. The song is an interesting mix of melody and gana. Sathya can make it big as a singer too. Un Perai Theriyaadhu Listen here Madhushree What's in a name, they say. But the adage seems to be not applicable for this song, which gets life with Sathya's tune and Madhushree's rendition. A romantic number, 'Un Perai Theriyaadhu...' seduces one. Listen to it and decide for yourself. Uyir Arunthathae Listen here Sayanora Sharp and haunting, 'Uyir Arunthathae...' has philosophical lines from Saravanan. Sayanora's rendition is on a high right from the beginning. A lot of instruments have been used by Sathya that makes 'Uyir Arunthathae' a musical treat. Music is anywhere and everywhere. With the title of the film itself symbolizing it aptly, we recommend 'Engeyum Eppodhum' for all music lovers. Welcome Sathya to Kollywood. You are here to stay... |
