After the success of Prithvirah-Mohanlal's first collaboration for Lucifer, the duo had announced a sequel to the flick titled 'Empuraan'. Ever since the announcement was made, the audience have been eagerly looking forward to the Prithviraj directorial.

Now, the director-actor himself has revealed an important update of the sequel. Taking to his social media handle, Prithviraj hinted that the writing part of the movie has been completed. He also shared that he is all excited to start filming the movie.

Sharing a picture with Murali Gopy, the writer of the movie, Prithviraj wrote, “Probably the day I first 'saw' #EMPURAAN. When your writer’s design starts forming an edited, colour corrected shape in your mind! I cannot wait to get this started..as much as a fan..as a filmmaker!” (sic.)

With the sequel, Mohanlal is returning as Khureshi Ab’raam aka Stephen Nedumbally. Apart from directing the film, Prithviraj is said to be reprising his role of Zayed Masood in the upcoming movie too.

The movie which was supposed to go on floors this year has been postponed to 2021 owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
