Chinese telecom giant Huawei Technologies has announced that it will be giving 2 billion yuan ($286 million) cash rewards to staff who had worked hard to safeguard from U.S. trade blacklisting.Huawei had earlier said that they were finding difficulties in getting alternatives to U.S. hardware after the United States banned it in May.
The cash award has come as a recognition for work despite facing U.S. pressure, as said in a notice from Huawei’s human resources department to staff. As said by a company spokesperson, the company has also doubled its pay for this month for all its 190,000 workers.
The cash rewards will be given to the research and development teams and staff in the supply chains away from the United States. The U.S. government officials are believing that Huawei’s equipment has a security risk, due to Huawei's ties with Chinese government though the company denied the allegations.
