Amidst gangster movies, the famed Sathyajothi Films, on their Silver Jubilee year, is coming out with an emotional entertainer that dwells on the sequences of events emanating between a wayward son and a strict father.
With Nasser playing the father, and Bharath as his son, the movie has Gopika playing the heroine.
After a roaring success in Metti Oli, a mega serial on small screen which captivated every household, director Thirumurugan is making his foray to big screen with Emttan Magan.
Outlining the knot, Thirumurugan said the movie is a realistic attempt on the screen.
What happens in every household between a strict father and his son is portrayed in an interesting and realistic way to appeal the masses.
Happy to do a movie for Sathyajothi Films in their 25th year, Thirumurugan says, 'All the artistes have given their heart-out. Nasser and Bharath have been the pillars getting into the skin of the character and have given right expressions'.
Outlining the script, he says, 'Bharath who has his own ways is taught how to come up in his life. Nasser plays Emttan, a strict father who runs a provision shop'.
Thirumurugan's team has scriptwriter Bhaskarsakthi, cameraman Sevilo Raja, art director K Kathir and editor M Jayakumar helping him.
Sathyajothi Thyagarajan, whose production firm has churned out several movies including Moonram Pirai, Jeeva, Idhayam and Parthiban Kanavu before, is optimistic that Emttan Magan will attract womenfolk back to the theatres.
'I was attracted by Thirumurugan's good work in Metti Oli and was keen to produce the first movie for such a director with immense potential', he says.
Vidyasagar has composed six songs for the movie which are sure to move everyone's heart.
The highlight of the audio is that the music-composer has come up with a song without any music accompanying it. Says Vidyasagar, 'The idea was suggested by the director and when we made it, everyone who listened to the song had appreciated us'.
All said, Emttan Magan is a neat family entertainer which comes rarely in Tamil filmdom.
