Days after reports claimed that Tesla CEO Elon Musk had an affair with Google co-founder Sergey Brin’s wife Nicole Shanahan, which ultimately led to their divorce, the billionaire has rubbished the rumours and shared a photo of himself partying with Brin the day before.

“Nicole and Sergey’s divorce has absolutely nothing to do with me,” Elon Musk had informed the New York Post in an email and shared the picture of the duo partying the previous day. “I am sure both Nicole and Sergey would confirm that. I spoke with both Sergey and Nicole about this and they say the story isn’t coming from them, so [it] must be a case of broken telephone, two or three layers removed,” the Tesla and SpaceX CEO added.

Slamming the media for constant “character assassination attacks,” Musk also mentioned that he had not met Nicole Shanahan more than two times in the last three years. “And, not to dodge the question, I have only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around,” he said.

“The amount of attention on me has gone supernova, which super sucks. Unfortunately, even trivial articles about me generate a lot of clicks. Will try my best to be heads down focused on doing useful things for civilization,” Elon Musk had tweeted following the emergence of the report.
