After Indian-origin Parag Agrawal replaced Jack Dorsey as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Twitter, Elon Musk claimed that the United States greatly benefited from Indian talent.
In response to a tweet by Stripe CEO Patrick Collison, who highlighted that some of the major US tech companies are now run by people who grew up in India, Elon Musk wrote, “USA benefits greatly from Indian talent!” The original tweet by Collison read, “Google, Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, Palo Alto Networks, and now Twitter are run by CEOs who grew up in India. It is wonderful to watch the amazing success of Indians in the technology world; it is a good reminder of the opportunity America offers to immigrants. (Congrats, @paraga!).”
Soon after he took over as the CEO of Twitter, IIT-Bombay alumnus Parag Agrawal thanked Jack Dorsey and said, “Our purpose has never been more important. Our people and culture are unlike anything in the world. There is no limit to what we can do together. Let’s show the world Twitter’s full potential.”
