Actor Vadivelu has had just one release this year with Eli` and the film directed by Yuvaraj Dhayalan turned out to be a disaster at the box office and received negative reviews from critics and audience.

Now the producer of the film Sathish Kumar has reportedly lodged a complaint against Vadivelu with the Chennai City Commissioner of Police. In his complaint Sathish, a Tanjore native real estate agent has alleged that Vadivelu persuaded him into film production by making tall claims about the demand for the satellite rights of his films. The film was made at a budget of Rs.12 crores. A popular Tamil satellite channel came forward to purchase the satellite rights for Rs.10 crores but Vadivelu interfered and thwarted the deal saying that the film would be purchased by some other channel for a bigger amount.

Sathish has further stated the he had lost his hard earned money on the film.
