Multi-lingual actor Sonu Sood, who has been in the news over the humanitarian works he has been rendering, has got a new feather in the cap. Keeping his growing popularity in mind, the Election Commission of India has made the 'Arundhati' actor the state icon of Punjab.
The 'Dookudu' actor hails from Punjab. His help to migrant workers during the lockdown has been praised all over. That's why the prominent film artist has been made the state icon by the ECI to bring out several awareness programmes.
In July, Sonu said that he will be creating three lakh jobs and launched Pravasirojgar.com in this regard. In September, he received the United Nations Development Programme's (UNDP) prestigious SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award for his charity works this year.
On the work front, the versatile actor will be seen in a key role in Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas' 'Alludu Adhurs'.
