A 70-year-old woman named Saramma, who lives alone at her house in Kerala, boldly confronted a thief using an electric mosquito bat. The elderly woman who usually spends her evening killing mosquitoes using the bat had never imagined that she could use the same bat to save her own life.
On July 21 evening, a thief entered her house through the back door while Saramma was watching television. When she heard the sound of her almirah being opened, Saramma rushed to her room. She had the mosquito bat in her hand. When she a thief standing in her room, she immediately hit his head with the mosquito bat. As it was an unexpected move from the elderly woman, the thief got shocked and he fell down. Soon he got up, pushed Saramma away, and escaped from the room.
Soon the lady rang up to the Police who reached the spot and arrested him from a nearby area. Police informed that the thief was drunk. The thief identified as 40-year-old Sunil was an ex-employee of Saramma. He had earlier too attempted to rob Saramma's house. However, after he pleaded sorry, he was left free. This time, Sunil has been remanded.
