After playing a sexy professional in her last movie 'Hello Darling', the 'Khalaas' gal Eesha Koppikhar is making a powerful comeback with Ram Gopal Verma's next hard-hitting movie 'Shabri'.

'Shabri' is written and directed by Lalit Marathe and is a story about how a simple woman (Eesha) from a Mumbai slum ends up threatening the biggest corridors of power in the matka gambling underworld of the city. It's a story of survival, dignity, determination, and human triumph in the face of impossible odds.

Along with Eesha, the film stars Raj Arjun, Pradip Rawat ('Ghajini' fame), Zakir Hussain in pivotal roles.

The actress, who turned on the heat with her glamour quotient in her earlier movies, looks far from a sizzler in 'Shabri'. Oiled hair, sans makeup, tanned skin, filthy getup - Eesha surely looks like she will grab the attention of critics with her performance in this one.

Says Marathe, "Most achievements are directly proportionate to the ferocity of hunger and the finality of the pangs. Shabri feels raw hunger. She is driven as much by the passion for vengeance as the terrible desire to live her life her own way."

"When inspired nothing in the world can stop what must rise. When everything is at stake there is nothing to lose. Shabri is an underdog whose stubbornness to have her way against all odds will touch a chord in all those who dream to soar," he added

Presented by Reliance Entertainment and produced by Ram Gopal Varma, 'Shabri' is slated to release on 26th August 2011. Reflecting Shabri's spirit on the eve of the film's release Lalit Marathe says, "I feel like a dog who will have his Friday!"

The film has been written and directed both by Lalit Marathe and has been shot mostly in Mumbai slums. The DOP of Shabri is Amit Roy who also shot 'Dum Maaro Dum' recently.
