In the land of `Karma Bhumi' where we get to hear the Ramayana and the Mahabharatha the underworld subjects with only one motive - killing for living is told in many films. Some of them have clicked for the presentation of it. For `Megha Movies' when `Aa Dinagalu' was made there was stuff in it as the tender love story was told refreshingly. The underworld nexus was also told in periodic film of 80's.

The same Megha Movies made a few more films after that like `Slum Bala, Kallara Santhe and Thamassu'. Now in `Edegaarike' it fumbled in selection of script that is not very interesting for the larger audience. The mood created for the film is also not that inspiring and the tale of killing of one consumes more time and patience is tested by the director Sumana Kitthur.

At the outset how it convinces the wider audience has to be looked at by any director. What is located in the underworld or a person indulged in it - there will not be much to take home for the general audience.

Look at the script that could be told in very simple lines. Sona working for Dubai don has to be extinguished by Sridhar who is in association with Muthappa Rai a top ranking don. Whether I should kill Sona or not is the question in the mind of Sridhar. He has gone through an emotional journey with Sona. His mind does not permit. Sridhar associate Bachchan shoots Sona.

When we have seen so many underworld topic films this `Edegaarike' is not the one that last long in the mind. Sumana Kitthur has the `Guts' to take on good scripts but they should appeal to masses.

Aditya as Sona moved away from his regular films. He is convincing in his underplay of the role. Atul Kulkarni keeps up a good performance. Achyuth Kumar is OK. Akanksha has nothing much. Dharma as Muthappa Rai and Srujan Lokesh as Bachchan have very little to do.

Sadhu Kokila in the background wins at places and cinematography of Rakesh has no challenges to steal the attention.

Score - 4/10
