Sonakshi Sinha's Akira is arriving at the Box Office with good economics in place. Here is why:

Cost of Production: 22 crore

P&A: 8 crore

Total costs: 30 crore

Recovery:

Satellite + Music: 15.5 crore

Total recovery: 15.5 crore

Further 14.5 crore need to come in from theatrical business [India and Overseas] and other ancillary rights.

What is impressive is the fact that despite a female centric subject, Akira has fetched a good satellite price. In fact for Sonakshi Sinha, it is a big deal indeed to be getting a similar response for television as some of the leading men in the industry.

Considering the fact that Akira is an A.R. Murugadoss film and the filmmaker has already given a couple of centuries already [Ghajini, Holiday], it would be interesting to see what he has to offer with his female centric Akira which is again an action entertainer.
