The State Election Commission has released an amended voters’ list yesterday on its website which puts the total number of eligible voters in the State at 5.86 crores.

Work to include all eligible voters in the State, who would have completed 18 years of age as on 01st January this year, commenced late last year and ended only recently after which the Commission has released the full list of eligible voters in the State.

As per the Commission’s latest list/data, out of Tamil Nadu’s population of 7.93 crores, there are 5,86,86,541 voters. Out of this, there are 2,90,30,400 male voters, 2,96,30,944 female voters and 5,242 voters belonging to the third sex.

District Collectors and Corporation Commissioners in all the Districts in the State have been instructed to release on their respective websites the complete list of voters pertaining to their places.
