East Coast Productions acquires Telugu rights of Vijay’s ‘Bigil’

Tamil superstar Vijay is currently doing a sports drama titled ‘Bigil’.  The film, directed by Atlee of ‘Raja Rani’ and ‘Mersal’ fame, will release simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu for Diwali.

The news is that Mahesh Koneru of East Coast Productions has acquired the Telugu rights of the film.  “We thank Vijay garu and producer Kalpathi Aghoram for the opportunity.  Earlier this year, ‘118’ from our banner was a hit.  And we are currently bankrolling ‘Miss India’ with Keerthy Suresh.  We are confident that ‘Bigil’ will be a hat trick under our banner,” Koneru said.

The drama stars Nayanthara as the female lead.  Vivek, Jackie Shroff, Kathir and Yogi Babu will be seen in other roles.

With music by AR Rahman, its cinematography is by GK Vishnu.
