`Easan' is the forthcoming film directed by Sasikumar who has a commendable fan following. The movie set in the backdrops of Chennai has Samuthirakani playing the lead role. Vaibhav, Abinaya and Aparna play other pivotal roles.

`Easan' is the film from the successful alliance of Sasikumar, Samuthirakani and James Vasanthan. The audio of `Easan' was launched in the presence of director from different languages of Indian cinema.

Sukhwinder Singh, Benny Dayal, Sunandan, Thanjai Selvi, Gerard Thompson, Padmanaban, KS Chitra, Malgudi Subha have sun the songs penned by Na Muthukumar, Mohan Rajan and Yugabharathi. James Vasanthan has dished out a different music for `Easan'. Don't listen to this album having `Subramaniapuram' in mind. It's different and new.

1. Meyyana Inbam - Listen here

Singers: Sukhwindher Singh, Benny Dayal, Sunandan

Lyricist: Na. Muthukumar

This is a techno version of a local drunken song from James Vasanthan. The base rhythms are simple and template. Sukhwindher Singh who scares you when he sings in Tamil has managed this song safely, may be because of the genre. But this song belongs to Na. Muthukumar's lyric.

2. Jilla Vittu - Listen here

Singer: Thanjai Selvi

Lyricist: Mohan Rajan

James Vasanthan does give a sudden twist with this folk which is also has a trance spell feeling. Though behaves like a usual 'village thiruvizha' song some instruments used is that we haven't heard for some time. A fine balance of all elements is noted. A new folk voice is being introduced Thanjai Selvi's voice stands out. The lyric my Mohan Rajan on the plights of a fallen women demands sympathy.

3.   Get Ready  Listen here

Singers: Benny Dayal, Gerard Thompson

Lyricist: Na Muthkumar

Benny Dayal and Gerard are good in this pop-rock number. James must be appreciated for this new experiment with bass metals and strings. Metal lovers may appreciate this.

4.   Kannil Anbai  Listen here

Singer: Padmanaban

Lyricist: Na. Muthukumar

This may be the "Kangal Irandal" of `Easan' by James. A decent effort by the singer adds a charm to the only melody of the album.

5.   Sugavasi  Listen here

Singers: Chitra, Malgudi Subha

Lyricist: Yugabharathi

A fusion song by two vertically different toned singers. Chitra and Malgudi Subha have done a remarkable job of a jugalbandhi. We haven't heard an all female duet for long and this rejuvenates the genre. Chitra has changed her voice to suit the character just as she did in Sathileelavathi. The veteran carries it well.

In all James Vasanthan as always played music to the story without looking for showcasing individual brilliance. A good music director would always do that. His more famous `Subramaniapuram' demanded village music and in `Easan' James Vasanthan has brought in a good dose of western flavor mixed with local music, which is definitely new and interesting.
