Some films get a huge buzz in the Overseas territory even before they release.  Their openings take many by surprise.  In recent past, 'Fidaa', 'Arjun Reddy' and 'Bhaagamathie' amazed box-office pundits with their US collections.  None of these are superstar movies.  

It's now the turn of 'Mahanati' to be in the news for 'Maha' momentum in the US.  As per early trade reports, the Savitri biopic has collected USD 303,456 from 143 locations in the US.  "This is the fourth biggest premiere number in Tollywood so far this year.  The first three are 'Agnyathavasi', 'Bharath Ane Nenu' and 'Rangasthalam'.  If the trends continue, the Keerthy Suresh-Dulquer Salman starrer will be Tollywood's pride," says an analyst.  

Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film also stars Samantha and Vijay Devarakonda.
