Dy CM Pawan Kalyan asks Film Industry to maintain silence on Tirupati Laddoo controversy

AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan has taken a firm stance on the Tirupati Laddoo controversy, where it was alleged that adulterated ghee containing animal fat was used in the sacred prasadam. His passionate response has resonated with many, as he continues to emphasize the importance of protecting religious sentiments and traditions.

Pawan Kalyan, who has undertaken an 11-day *Prayaschitha Deeksha* (penance), visited the Kanakadurgamma Temple on Indrakiladri Hill as part of his ritual. On this occasion, he was welcomed by the Commissioner of the Devdaya Department and participated in temple cleaning activities. Alongside MPs Keshineni Shivnath Chinni, Balashauri, and MLC Hariprasad, he later offered prayers at the temple stairs.

Pawan Kalyan urged the film industry to exercise caution when commenting on sensitive religious matters. He emphasized that if individuals within the industry do not wish to speak about an issue, they should maintain silence rather than make statements that could stoke religious sentiments and offend the beliefs of others. This call for restraint highlights his concerns over the potential for such comments to cause unnecessary controversy and hurt, particularly in matters related to faith and traditions.

During a media interaction, Pawan Kalyan expressed his frustration at those mocking the controversy and urged the film industry to refrain from making insensitive comments about religious matters. He particularly called out actor Prakash Raj for his remarks, stressing that secularism is a two-way street and shouldn't be used as a pretext to offend Hindu beliefs. He said, "Secularism should come from all sides. It is offensive for fellow Hindus to insult fellow Hindus. If a small incident happens in a mosque, would people speak like this? Why, then, are we treated differently?"

His comments reflect his deep disappointment over the disregard for Hindu traditions and faith, urging that the same respect shown to other religions should be extended to Sanatana Dharma. Pawan Kalyan did not mince words when he criticized leaders like Ponnavolu Sudhakar, questioning their dismissive attitude toward the issue.

Further, he asked why there wasn’t more significant outrage over the issue, questioning if leaders like CM Jagan would remain silent if something similar occurred in a church or mosque. He emphasized that this incident deserves Cabinet-level discussion and an investigation, potentially led by the CBI, to hold accountable those responsible for the adulteration of the ghee.

Pawan Kalyan has been vocal about the larger issue of temple desecration under the current government. He mentioned that 300 temples were desecrated during the YSRCP regime and that religious sentiments should not be trampled upon, regardless of the faith involved. He has also raised concerns about the commercialization of temple services, such as tickets being sold in the name of Srivani Trust, and the poor quality of offerings.

Highlighting the seriousness of the situation, Pawan Kalyan plans to visit Tirumala on October 1, where he will begin a pilgrimage by walking up the steps of Alipiri to seek divine intervention. He aims to conclude his *deeksha* by offering prayers at Sri Venkateswara Swamy's temple on October 2, followed by a public meeting in Tirupati on October 3.

In his concluding remarks, Pawan Kalyan reiterated his dedication to protecting Sanatana Dharma and religious practices, demanding transparency and accountability in temple management and offering practices. He vowed to continue his fight to preserve the sanctity of Tirumala Laddoo and other religious traditions.
