Arunachalam Muruganantham has been known across the world for developing a low cost sanitary pad vending machine, and he had helped a lot of women in Tamil Nadu, helping them take care of menstrual hygiene besides also training them in making pads on their own.
It was based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham that Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar starred in the movie Padman. Yesterday, popular West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo had made a visit to Arunachalam Muruganantham's factory Jayashree indsutries, and had a discussion with him for few hours.
Bravo had discussed with Arunachalam on how even his place Trinidad and Tobago had girls who dropped out of schools due to lack of access for sanitary pads, and he also got to learn how to make the pads, and said that he will be setting up training centers in Trinidad, besides creating awareness among women there about menstrual hygiene.
