Duniya is a film starring all newcomers. Directed by debutante LK Rao, the film has Kranthi, Tanishq, Anusha Jain, Anuhya Reddy and Alisha playing the leads. The film touches upon the topic of terrorism, driving home the point that we are Indians first, and our religious or regional identities should be subsumed to our national identity. The three friends in the story hail from different religious backgrounds – Hindu, Muslim and Christian. Duniya depicts their friendship, which is uncontaminated by their religious affinities.

The makers say that Duniya delivers the message that we may have differences over other issues, but when it comes to nation we display unity. The film’s convictions are inspired by Roja and Bharateeyudu.

Not that the film is only about heavy dose topics like terrorism. Friendship is an integral part of the story. A character goes out of his way to extricate his friend from a difficult situation. A character who plays a chemical engineering student falls in love with another – thus, there is the romantic angle to it also.

Camera is by Rajesh Katthuri; Editor is Gautham Raju; Lyrics are by Ramana Lok, Sahithi, Sagar Narayana and Paidishettiram.
