Let's admit it, when compared to Abhishek's last four films (Game, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey, Raavan, Delhi 6), 'Dum Maaro Dum' is indeed carrying the best vibes. The film is looking good, there has been good enough visibility created around it, the songs are reasonably successful as well and it is also arriving sans any major competition. All of this means that if at all 'Dum Maaro Dum' is reasonably good; it will sustain itself at the box office.

Of course Abhishek's string of commercial flops means that the opening would certainly be impacted. Hence one can't expect anything greater than 40%-50% opening here. However that would be only for the morning and afternoon shows of the first Friday because if the film manages good word of mouth for itself, sky is the limit for it. 'Dum Maaro Dum' has the potential to perform and one now waits with bated breath to check out if it indeed lives up to the expectations. Though family audience can't be expected to hop on in dozens due to film's adult theme, youth being the target audience should come in handy.

The other release of the week, 'Zokkomon', is doomed and doesn't have much going for it. Arriving with minimal promotion, zero hype and zilch buzz, it is a pity that despite being Bollywood's first superhero film involving a child as a central protagonist; 'Zokkomon' has just not been enticing enough. Also, even though it is a Walt Disney presentation with Darsheel Safary (of 'Taare Zameen Par' fame) in lead, 'Zokkomon' has been seemingly given a step motherly treatment when it comes to marketing, promotion and release. Delayed by more than a year, 'Zokkomon' looks like a non-starter.
