The climax of the Malayalam version of Dulquer Salmaan's latest release Solo has been changed without the Bejoy Nambiar's consent, tweeted the director. “For all those asking about the changed ending. It has been done without my knowledge and consent. Good or Bad I stand by the film I made,” tweeted Bejoy Nambiar. Earlier, Abraham Mathew, who produced the film in Malayalam, told a daily that the only reason behind this move was to “show respect towards the audience's opinions”.
Bejoy has however confirmed that the film will be re-releasing in Tamil as it is after the ongoing strike. “SOLO - Tamil version if given a chance to release once the strike is over will release AS IS ! @aniljain13 is a rockstar of a producer,” Bejoy tweeted, referring to Anil Jain, the producer of the Tamil version.
Solo is an anthology of four tales, each story refers to an element of nature — air, water, fire and earth. And the lead character in each story, all played by Dulquer, is named after Shiva — Shekhar, Trilok, Shiva and Rudra. While the movie was widely appreciated, the climax of Solo was a point of contention for most of the critics and audience.
